Lead Time: 2-3 Working Days

The AFDL.44 is easy to install using screws that fasten the auxiliary frame to the louvre core through the cut-out in the door, leaving the corridor side of the frame free from fixings for added security and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. This eliminates the need to drill holes through the door, saving time and installation labour.

DOOR THICKNESS

AFDL.44 suits 44-46mm thick metal or timber doors.

FRAME DETAILS

Cut size required - 457 x 203mm (W x H)

Outside Frame - 479 x 225mm (W x H)

BLADE PITCH

35.8° from vertical.

FREE AIR FLOW

50% free area. (36.6% when using insect mesh).

% FREE AREA

The free area of a louvre is an approximate percentage based on the open area between the blades through which air can pass. The percentage free area has long been used as a convenient means to select louvre type and size but is not an indicator of the louvre's performance (air flow rate).

FASTENERS

It is self-attaching through the cut-out in the door using No.8 Phillips head sheet metal screws through countersunk mounting holes to attach the auxiliary frame to the louvre core, thus eliminating the need to drill holes in the door. This method saves time and installation labour and leaves the corridor side of the frame free of fasteners for added security, and a cleaner aesthetic appearance.

FAQs

  • In stock single doors: The cylinder and key set is found in the top of the frame.
  • Double doors: The cylinder is placed in one of the handle boxes.
  • Fire exits: The keys are taped to the door or around the panic bar.

All our frames come supplied with side channels that are fitted around the outside of the frame. The side channels expand by winding out the fixing bolts which in turn push the side channels outwards allowing you to expand the frame between the two measurements.

All our doors are designed to open outwards which makes them more secure and weather-proof. If you require the door to open inwards you are required to install the frame the opposite way, this does have an effect on the security and weather-proof aspect of the door. We would recommend adding a rain drip to any inward opening doors being installed externally helping to prevent water ingress.

A blanking plate is a sheet of steel used to cover the handle fixing locations that are pre-cut into our multi-point locking door blades. These are only necessary if you don’t require a lever handle to be fitted, we offer these with or without key access.
