Door closers are devices used to self-close steel doors. When the steel security door is pushed open and operated the door closers use mechanical force to pull the steel door back to the closed position and self-close the security door.

This unit also comes with back check which helps control the speed of which the door opens and closes. This is great if the door is fitted in an external windy environment as the back check feature will stop the door from flying open in the wind and potentially injuring someone or causing damage to the door, adjacent wall or door framework.

Our upgraded door closer comes with a variable power rating of 2-4. This means you can adjust the power of the door closer to suit your requirements. You can set the closing speed depending on the environment and weather conditions. It Carries a CE mark and is Certify accredited. It is Certified to BS EN 1154 and Comes with a 10 year mechanical guarantee. The unit is suitable for a Fire rated door and is Suitable for domestic and commercial use. If you or your client requires a specific rating of door closer or a specific model for your security door please contact our steel doors sales team who will happily arrange it for you.

FAQs

  • In stock single doors: The cylinder and key set is found in the top of the frame.
  • Double doors: The cylinder is placed in one of the handle boxes.
  • Fire exits: The keys are taped to the door or around the panic bar.

All our frames come supplied with side channels that are fitted around the outside of the frame. The side channels expand by winding out the fixing bolts which in turn push the side channels outwards allowing you to expand the frame between the two measurements.

All our doors are designed to open outwards which makes them more secure and weather-proof. If you require the door to open inwards you are required to install the frame the opposite way, this does have an effect on the security and weather-proof aspect of the door. We would recommend adding a rain drip to any inward opening doors being installed externally helping to prevent water ingress.

A blanking plate is a sheet of steel used to cover the handle fixing locations that are pre-cut into our multi-point locking door blades. These are only necessary if you don’t require a lever handle to be fitted, we offer these with or without key access.
